The Memorial Walkway at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery is a core feature of the grounds, serving as both a historical record and a peaceful sanctuary for reflection. Located in a wooded area behind the Administration Building, the Memorial Walkway was designed in the early 2000s as a historical tribute to honor NH's veterans. The pathway is lined with over 100 monuments and benches dedicated to specific branches of service, military units, and historical events.
Funding by the NHVCA
While the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery was established with state and federal funds, typical government budgeting typically covers only basic cemetery operations and interments. The NHVCA—a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization—was specifically formed to fund improvements that fall outside the federal and state scope. The Memorial Walkway is funded entirely through the generosity of private citizens, businesses, and veterans' organizations via the NHVCA. Memorial Bricks, | Memorial Paver 6 x 9, Memorial Paver 12 x 12, & General Donations support the upkeep and expansion of the walkway.
